BALD EAGLES

My dear friends, Rhea & Marcia
went Eagle hunting yesterday.

Our town lies on the Illinois River, which
becomes the Mississippi River eventually.

Rhea got some GREAT pictures.

These aren't all the SAME eagle..but
these are all mature eagles..as they don't get
their white head until they are 4 years old.
click on the pics to make them bigger!!

Thank you Rhea for sharing..
and letting me post them on my blog.

These pictures were taken about 2 -3 miles from
our lil nestle in the woods.

ENJOY

My friend~~Mr. Red Belly Woodpecker

A female (top of feeder) & male Downy Woodpecker

It's been so cold here& hubby has been getting
home after dark
&  I am NOT suppose to
be around things like litter boxes, bird droppings, etc
because of chemo reducing my immune system,
so tis slim pickin's around here for the
birds.
They worked and worked to get a few bits of
peanuts. Even a few scuffles.

Thank heavens hubby hunk came home before dark today
and filled ALL the feeders.  The birds will be thankful tomorrow.

Oh So Sweet, Our Mr Sanders

Yesterday..when I came home from my FIRST chemo
treatment, as I took my purse from the car, something
caught my eye in the tree on the side yard.

I thought it was a trash bag in the tree, but
as I turned my head, I saw what it REALLY was.

Our resident possum "Mr Sanders" was up
in the crab tree feasting on berries!!

I yelled for Rich to bring the camera out
& we both got some good shots.

Who could resist that pink nose & furry body??

I just LOVE nature and I felt God had given me this
sighting as a sign He had LOTS of delights left in life for
ME!!

Oh each day is a blessing , please appreciate it and
hold your loved ones CLOSE
and rejoice in the gifts God gives us.  They are there, just
open your eyes to them

An Interesting Shot

I captured this picture through the window and was surprised to see a nuthatch on thebottom left limb, in the branch below the Merlin Falcon. The Merlin dines on smaller birds.

This guy sure doesn't look scared does he??
