Mantis & His Shadow

Last evening ..as the sun was going down & so bright I saw this Praying Mantis on our screen. I love how the shadow shows up. He looks like he's ready to enter the Boxing Ring.

The praying mantis is comical on the screen. I don't think we have them around here. Have a lovely day.

Wonderful photo, you have a lovely eye. I hope your chemo is going well... or is it "has done" well? You look just fine, the bird as accessary is perfect, you know. Lucky he didn't hit the window lots harder.

Deena, They are about my favorite bug! The pictures are great. You can hold them-they don't bite. I just love those guys!

I'm so envious of your praying mantis pictures. Hubby and I are always finding them outside around our house. I recently tried snapping pictures of a whole slew of baby's on our trash can lid, but my close-up pics never turn out so good. My son keeps telling me, "Mom, read the camera's manuel!", but I hate reading instructions! ;-Þ

I scrolled on down, looking at your many nature pics. I love them all. I especially love your apple shaped birdfeeder, that is the cutest thing!

Oh, and thank you again for visiting my blog today! :-)

This is my first visit to your site and your photos are wonderful! Your little friend is a common sight where I live. My little dog like to walk along behind them and prod them with her nose.

Our Mantis was on a kitchen screen...I thought he may have been interested in what I was cooking up for dinner!
Hope you have a great day~

Deena,

Yesterday the praying mantis were praying their hearts out. I love the sound. It reminds me of childhood days on the farm. I was always told that when the praying mantis pray, it was a sign that it was going to be hot and this afternoon was hot. Goes to show that nature can tell us if things to come if we only take time to listen.

Blessings,
Mary
