Hunger

brings these deer out in mid day. The are eating small trees & leaves.
Poor things
They were in back then came around front. I took these through
my office window. This one was the last one to leave. I had to get
my camera and missed a picture of all of them.

Hi Deena.....I have great compassion for the wildlife during these intense periods of cold.

The red deer are such beautiful creatures.....

They look healthy enough Deena. The ones here are eating the next door neighbor's bushes so she got soap to put out, hoping to keep them away. Haven't heard if it's working though..LOL One year the snow was so deep here that they were eating the bottoms off all the pine trees. I'm not supposed to feed them but they come over here to eat the leftover nuts that I throw out for the squirrels and birds. I chop up a couple apples each evening and throw them over the rock wall too. I didn't see them tonight because it was raining. You got some nice photos of them Deena! Take care. Hugs!

It always amazes me how the animals live through the bitter cold times. They are so pretty Deena. :c)

You take such wonderful pics of all the wildlife around your house-we live in the country as well but I hardly ever see any wildlife. Did get excited Wed. night on my way home from Bible Study-there was a very small red fox standing on the side of the road not far from my house. I saw something standing on the side of the road and slowed down cause I thought it was someones cat or dog and was so shocked when I saw what it was. Traci

The wildlife has a special place in our hearts, I'm thankful for people who care so deeply for them as I do. Around here a lot of people don't feel that way.

What a beauty! I do feel for these poor creatures struggling to survive in such wintry weather.

Nice pictures, as always. One awful winter I made peanut butter sandwiches for some hungry crows that were hanging out in our yard. They didn't come back.....
