Sometimes I Feel Like a Childless Mother

Another Milestone In Life

Rich & I are parents of GROWN children. My baby got a car on Thursday & moved her things
to her apartment TODAY.

Mercedes & her room mates.
Oh my gosh, will I survive this. ?? I have been a mom with kids at home for 35 years & now
they are gone. I don't know whether to laugh, cry, celebrate, get a facial or buy a new wardrobe. (laugh out loud)

My baby will be 18 on July 17th, so this car & apartment are her presents!!
I told her I wouldn't call her everyday!! Gosh I'll try hard not too. But (to quote Tony Soprano).......whatta ya gonna do??

On a NATURE note, doesn't this Butterfly Weed look lovely?? OH the fragrance is divine..try as I might I couldn't get a picture of any butterflies on the plant!!

Oh Deena... you may see her more now than when she was at home! We do have to let them fly away don't we?
I love your hens and chicks in the previous post. That's something that Mom & Daddy always had around.

Take Care & God Bless,
Lana

Yes, do all of the above!

P.S. I'm right behind you -- our youngest has one year of high school left....

oh, Deena,
I know what you are feeling and let me tell you a little secret that I have found...although she has grown into a lovely young woman, she will always always be your little girl....
now she will be your dearest and best friend as a grown woman.
They may move from their old rooms to a home of their own, but they do come home and when they come back, they bring more to love with them.
... I want to tell you that no one would ever believe that you are the mother & grandmother of such a grown up family, you must have gotten married as a very young girl.
You and your husband are a very handsome couple.

Deena,
You have such a beautiful family!!! Your little girl is so beautiful. She will always be just that, your little girl. Make sure to Love her and work hard to stay close to her. You will have a forever friend.
I am not looking forward to facing the road you are on right now, but I believe that with a lot of Love and her favorite Meal....You will see more of her now, than you did while she was at home. :0)

Hugs,
Tink

My last baby is 17 and I am going through the same thing. I am filling my time with new hobbies and starting new adventures. But it still hurts when the nest gets ready to be empty.Nita

Aw Deena, she is so sweet! And how exciting for her to have a new car AND a new place of her own. What a wonderful job you and hubby have done raising your children.

Hi deena
What a lovely couple you are and what a beautiful daughter you have and she is so lucky to have you both... I am feeling sad about my nearly 14 year old having her first boyfriend so I think I will be a mess at the thought of them leaving home.... They open our worlds to so many wonderful things though don't they.... take care

Deena, I'd give you a hug if I could! I can imagine your feelings of having your last little birdy leave the nest, but you are such a wonderful mama, they'll come back and back and back. What a full and wonderful life with children, and isn't it worth all the trials and tribulations?!
Take care of you!
love ya,
