Oh So Sweet, Our Mr Sanders

Yesterday..when I came home from my FIRST chemo
treatment, as I took my purse from the car, something
caught my eye in the tree on the side yard.

I thought it was a trash bag in the tree, but
as I turned my head, I saw what it REALLY was.

Our resident possum "Mr Sanders" was up
in the crab tree feasting on berries!!

I yelled for Rich to bring the camera out
& we both got some good shots.

Who could resist that pink nose & furry body??

I just LOVE nature and I felt God had given me this
sighting as a sign He had LOTS of delights left in life for
ME!!

Oh each day is a blessing , please appreciate it and
hold your loved ones CLOSE
and rejoice in the gifts God gives us.  They are there, just
open your eyes to them

lovingly, Deena
(aka  "Waves at Wildlife")
hubby gave my that as my American Indian

Hi Deena, around here they call possum Grinners!
It looks like they are always smileing!
They usually don't come out till after dusk...this lil guy must have been hungry!

I received my vintage heart swap goodies today!
Oh my gosh I had so much fun opening all the treasures you sent!
Thank you with all my heart!
I will post them on my blog tomorrow!

I found your blog from your Pink blog and just wanted to send my wishes for a quick remission that lasts a long time. Also wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying your nature photos. To be able to keep both blogs going along with all the things you are going through is amazing.

I've never cared for possums, but I do believe Mr. Sanders has won me over. Amazing sight you have caught with your lens.

I wish you well and will continue to follow your blog. I will also remember you in my prayers along with my mother-in-law who just had her first chemo treatment Friday.

We live in the country, close to a small city in Arkansas. One day, a man, wanting me to join his Church, asked me "What Church do you go to?" And I told him that my husband and I go to the backyard (2 acres), where we have lots and lots of trees, and plants, flowers, a pond, tons of birds, and bunnies, possums, insects, the sky, clean air and silence - right THERE, where the Good Lord is!

You are a very sweet lady. I wish you, from the bottom of my heart, ALL THE BEST!

This blog is beautiful..the photo's the background...my goodness. This possum is so cute..we have one here..I think he must live in our pine tree at the edge of the yard as that is where we see him on a regular basis. One evening my husband went out on the deck to start the gas grill...and there he was....sitting on top of it...He was not very happy to see my husband.

Have a wonderful day...Can't wait to see more photo's.

Deena,
I love your blog and will be back soon to check out more of the birds. Don't you just love those beautiful Cedar Waxwings? We used to have a messy persimmon tree, and every year hundreds would pick it clean of the fermented fruit. Great fun for them?
Hugs, Laura

Hello,
Just a word to the wise, skunks, possoms, etc. only come out at night unless they have rabies.
Do not attempt the pet or catch these animals. Possoms, will hiss
and bite.
Please be careful.
